    I've had several calls from this number and they hang up as soon as I answer. Last time I didn't even speak and they hung up anyway. About to block the number.

    Called twice in two minutes. Knew my name and said he was calling from the federal government about a solar panel scheme. I told him to take me off his list and later blocked the number. Scammers.

    Scam caller - called me by first name - said they were calling from the ‘federal government’. I don’t know any public servants that work on a Saturday. Definitely a scam number.

    Tried to call me but did not pick up. I don’t pick up numbers I do not recognise. Did not leave a message.

    I will find and kill them if they try to call me again.

    Claimed to be from a free solar scheme. A similar number with last digit changed to a 4 called a couple of hours later so probably scam.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
