This is an automatic call where I am given a message to hold until a marketer is ready to talk to me. I hung up straight away so I don't know which organisation it is for.
This number has attempted to call me weekly for a while, I finally answered and the person said they were from AGL, and had a wifi offer for me. I told him to email me the offer and he said that this has already been sent through (lie). I told him I was working and so was my husband so I couldn't make any decisions, but to email me the offer, and he said he could not. He then started asking about my own phone plan. If he was actually from AGL he was far too pushy and aggressive, and made me not want to utilize AGL anymore, let alone expand my services with them.
When you answer it's an automated robot voice with an australian accent that says 'our operators are busy but we'll be with you shortly' and then hold music plays. If you continue waiting, another message plays that says something like 'thanks for waiting, your call is important'. Based on the reviews here and Google results, it's AGL. I think it's weird they use a phone system that dials people and makes them wait for an agent. Cold caller marketers do that and it's horrible.
Received 4 calls in 2 days, I answered the first call however there was no response and they hung up. Did not answer the remaining calls and no message was left. If they call again I’ll report it as predatory nuisance.
They tried on me pretending to be AGL... No luck.
Marketing scam
AGL. Trying to sell me National Broadband Network plan.
AGL probably telemarketing.
Scam claiming to be from AGL
