A scammer contacted me claiming to be from Bendigo Bank, insisting they noticed a transfer of several thousand dollars from my account to an overseas location. I do not have an account with Bendigo Bank.
My phone did not ring at all for this number, but it flagged it as "potential fraud." I am steering clear of this one!
I only answered this call because it showed up as a Perth number, and I’m located in Perth. However, it turned out to be typical of scam calls where there’s a brief wait before being connected to a scammer. They falsely claimed to be from Telstra (which was odd since I am not a Telstra customer) and said that my IP address had been made public and needed changing.
My phone marked this call as a potential fraud and automatically blocked it before I could answer.
I suspect this is a scam call, as the caller disconnected immediately after calling. It was identified as a phone call from Perth, Australia.
I started receiving calls from this number after I downloaded some apps that pay users to watch videos. To avoid further issues, I've blocked the number and deleted those apps.
I received a scam call stating they were attempting to authorize a payment for $999.
Scammer.
Let it call out, no message left.
This number appeared as a potential fraud source. They didn't leave a message. I recommend blocking and deleting it.
Scammers. Never answer phone numbers not known to you.
Always Google the number first.
Just called me and said they were from eBay and someone has purchased a $500 gift card in California with my details. I told them to cancel it and they asked me to open my app store and download something, I told them not doing that. I ended the call. Very noisy call centre in the back ground. Scammers!!!
On receipt of call, an automated voice says that there is an unauthorised charge on your VISA for the purchase of bitcoin. They ask you to press 1 to authorise the transaction, press 2 to..., etc.
I hung up.
Some Paki from visa call George. I doubt it asking why I called. I said you called me about a charge. Did you receive the text about this charge? No. Can we confirm your number? If you are who you say you are you just called so the number is correct. You are clearly a scammer. Started to yell at me so I hung up.
