    They rang, let it ring once, and hung up. Scammers, wanting me to call back.

    Called and said that from Commonwealth Bank of Australia, then I said I worked for CBA and asked him which department he called from. He then hung up.

    Claims from Cisa and Mastercard security and said noticed odd international transactions of $400 overnight. Said will hang up as 1. Didn’t have that and 2. They’re different companies so you’re obviously fake. They hung up.

    Guy with Indian accent called me saying he was from Amazon and was calling regarding an apple airpod purchase. I don't have an Amazon account, so told him No & hanged up.

    This number just called and tried to tell me they would be doing work on the National Broadband Network in my area tomorrow morning. They wanted to know if I was home or at work. Instead of answering I asked where they would be performing this work. They said that they would be doing it from their secure server and then they hung up. Scam.

    Guy with Indian accent called me saying he was from Amazon. He got really angry when I said I didn't believe him! It always amazes me that these guys, who are trying to scam you, get really angry when you call them out - like we're the ones who are in the wrong!

    The foreign person possibly from China has a brilliant deceptive scheme to gather more info. About you at first rep. Amazon with the fact somebody has stolen your identity and is using your details to buy an iPhone worth over $1000.00 but as it is not you he will cancel and block this person who is impersonating you BUT first we need to connect you with Amazon I'll leave the rest up to those of you who are intelligent enough to realise you will be giving away more than he already knows.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
