Understanding the Calls from 08 6317 5631

If you've recently received calls from 08 6317 5631, you are not alone. Reports indicate that this number is linked to RSPCA Pet Insurance. Many individuals have flagged it as a telemarketer, prompting interest in how to handle these frequent calls and whether there are legitimate avenues to prevent further contact.

Classification: Telemarketing Calls

Users’ experiences reveal a common scenario: they may have accidentally initiated contact with the RSPCA while searching for pet insurance online, which led to receiving a barrage of marketing calls. One user reported receiving as many as seven calls in a single day after inquiring online, demonstrating how quickly telemarketers can act upon your interest.

Why the Calls?

RSPCA Pet Insurance, like many insurance companies, utilises telemarketing as a strategy to reach prospective customers. On occasion, accidents happen—such as submitting an online quote when you intended to navigate to a different service altogether. It’s a frustrating situation when you find your number being relentlessly dialed post inquiry, especially after you have taken precautions, like requesting not to receive marketing calls via email.

What Can You Do?

Here are some reliable steps to take if you are inundated with calls from this number:

  • Opt-out of marketing calls: Call back the number and request to have your details removed from their marketing list. Make your request clear and firm.
  • Use call blocking features: Many smartphones have built-in features for blocking unwanted calls. Use these tools to reduce the chance of future interruptions.
  • Report excessive calls: If you find the volume of calls overwhelming, consider reporting the number to the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA), which regulates telecommunication practices.

Final Thoughts

While 08 6317 5631 is linked to a legitimate organisation, the volume of telemarketing calls reported can certainly become bothersome. Engaging in a Reverse Phone Lookup in Australia can help you stay informed about prevalent numbers and prevent unwanted communication in the future. Remember, you have the right to manage who contacts you and implement measures that restore peace of mind.

Stay vigilant, and next time that phone rings, you'll be better prepared to handle any calls that come your way!

RSPCA Pet Insurance.

Accidentally requested an online quote (I searched a different company, but Google ads preferenced RSPCA at the top, and I wasn't paying attention). Once I realised, I emailed the email on the privacy policy of the website to request no marketing/ product related calls, but it was too late. I was bombarded with phone calls from this number all day and busy / unable to answer.7 calls in one day. Just called back and requested to be removed from their call list (even though I already emailed to request no contact).
