08 6289 1046 (0862891046): Multiple reports of relentless robocall spam from Netsip Pty Ltd using spoofed numbers across Australia. Calls breach Do Not Call Register.
Robocall Spam Reports for 08 6289 1046
Five contributors have reported persistent robocall spam from 08 6289 1046 (also written as 0862891046), operated by Netsip Pty Ltd, a Western Australian telecommunications provider. The pattern reveals a systematic operation using spoofed numbers that change frequently to evade blocking, with callers making unsolicited contact about solar panel batteries, broadband, and other sales pitches despite Do Not Call Register listings.
What distinguishes 0862891046 from typical spam is the sheer volume and sophistication of the operation. One contributor reports receiving multiple calls daily from different numbers all linked to the same company, with callers able to mask their origin to appear as though they're calling from anywhere across Australia - Sydney to Perth. This number-spoofing tactic allows Netsip to bypass blocking attempts by generating new numbers faster than contributors can list them.
What Callers from 08 6289 1046 Say
Callers from 08 6289 1046 typically initiate contact with a specific sales angle relevant to the recipient. One contributor received a call claiming to follow up about adding battery storage to solar panels, though the caller quickly backtracked when told the recipient lives in a care facility. Another report describes the caller pursuing a broadband-related matter, suggesting these are cold-calling campaigns targeting different demographics with tailored scripts.
The tactics employed are relatively low-key initially - contributors report straightforward sales pitches rather than aggressive threats or impersonation. However, the aggressive calling pattern itself constitutes harassment, with multiple daily attempts designed to wear down resistance through persistence rather than manipulation.
Call Patterns and Timing
The robocall operation from 0862891046 shows disciplined calling patterns. One contributor noted calls arriving daily between 10:43 and 10:49 AM, indicating automated scheduling. Another report describes calls starting as early as 6:30 AM and continuing throughout the day, suggesting a professional operation running extended hours. Multiple contributors emphasise the relentless frequency - when one number is blocked, another appears within days or even hours.
All reported contact via 08 6289 1046 came through answered calls or missed calls, indicating outbound dialling from Netsip's infrastructure. The Western Australian allocation and Netsip branding suggest this is a local operation with national spoofing capability, making it a particularly frustrating target for Do Not Call Register members who have no mechanism to opt out once targeted.
What to Do If You Receive a Call from 08 6289 1046
If 08 6289 1046 or related numbers call you:
- Do not: Engage with the caller, provide any personal information, or return missed calls to unknown numbers
- Do: Let calls go to voicemail, block the specific number immediately, and note the time for pattern tracking
- Do: Hang up promptly if you answer by mistake - do not indicate whether the number is active or monitored
- Do: Expect follow-up calls from different numbers if you engage, as this confirms your line is monitored
Because Netsip generates new numbers frequently, blocking individual numbers provides only temporary relief. Instead, focus on not engaging - each call you answer or return suggests an active target, potentially increasing contact frequency.
How to Report 08 6289 1046
Multiple Australian authorities can address this behaviour, though enforcement remains inconsistent:
- Do Not Call Register complaint: donotcall.gov.au - file a complaint to document repeated contact despite registration. The ACMA (Australian Communications and Media Authority) uses complaint patterns to investigate serial offenders.
- ACMA (acma.gov.au): Report the robocall operation and number-spoofing tactics. Netsip Pty Ltd has allegedly breached telecommunications regulations, and ACMA has authority to investigate and sanction providers.
- Scamwatch (scamwatch.gov.au): While this operation focuses on harassment rather than financial loss, reporting establishes patterns useful for public awareness.
- Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC): The ACCC can investigate unfair business practices and repeated contact despite Do Not Call registrations, particularly given the scale of complaints.
- On Reverseau: Add your own report if you receive calls from 08 6289 1046 or related numbers. Community contributions help identify new numbers and patterns linked to this operation.
Given the systematic nature and repeated complaints, consider also contacting your local member of parliament about Netsip's alleged Do Not Call Register breaches, as this represents a widespread consumer harm issue.

What Our Users Reviewed
I consider this organisation to be a scam organisation in the sense that they continuously, repeatedly, call my number without invitation, any desire on my part, or any reason other than some sort of unwanted sales solicitation, even though my numbers are on the do-not-call register. I have blocked 30+ numbers linked to these numbers operated by Netsip Pty Ltd, a telecommunications provider, but they invent numbers faster than I, or anyone, could possibly block them.
In the past they would reuse a particular number, but after learning who they were, I now block every number they invent with the result that they now create new numbers nearly every time they ring me. They have the ability to make it look as though their number comes from anywhere in Australia from Sydney across to Perth.
My wish would be that they pay me at least $1,000 for each attempt to canvass me or otherwise irritate me by causing me to look at my phone to see yet another unrecognised number, check out the number on this site, then delete the number and block it. If it is illegal for aggressive debt collection agencies to repeatedly ring, irritate, and harass people, why then is it not illegal for these telemarketing parasites to do likewise.
Only money penalties will end Netsip Pty Ltd’s persistence and I would suggest a penalty of at least 100 million dollars be levied against such likely illegal behaviour, if and when the ACCC, the Telecommunications Ombudsmen, and other oversight agencies gain the teeth to address the issue of these type organisations doing harm to Australian society. My assumption is also that my personal information, such as phone number, name, general location, specific address, possibly my income level, and even my spending habits are being sold by this company to anyone who will buy the information in an attempt toward selling something.
I have not given my permission for this organisation, any other company, or group to use my personal information or to ring me for any reason - to my knowledge - and if I may have done so inadvertently in some way, I hereby revoke that permission. I have no doubt that this particular company is generating millions of calls, irritating, and harassing millions of people in exactly the same way they are doing to me; this is simply a numbers for cash game for them. Please report this number and any other number used by this organisation or that is in any way connected to them as partners, subscribers to their harassment technology, or in any way supportive of their anti-social business model to the proper authorities for the purpose of ending their existence on this planet.
Bloke called claiming to follow up about adding battery to solar panels. when i said i live in care facility he backtracked quick
calling daily between 10:43 and 10:49, block one number another pops up
It is operated by Netsip Pty Ltd, a telecommunications provider. I can't count the number of repeated calls I have received from this organization starting as early as 6:30 am and continuing all day sometimes. I have learned that this, so called, company has breached certain regulations within the Telecommuincations rules, regulations, and restrictions, which it obviously appears to continue doing. By virture of the number of calls I receive from this company through many, many, many manipulated numbers attempting to look legitimate, it must qualify, unreservedly, as a scam caller, or simply a repeat offender of repeated solicitations under the "do-not-call" laws of Australia. My phone numbers are all listed as "do-not-call" numbers, for what that is worth, in this day of perpetual scams and trixter theft attempts by phone. This is a scam company with the endless ability to change and camouflage their numbers on the fly to mostly and purposely irritate callers for what I can only consider nuisance calls. If the Federal Police would like more detail about their persistent endless call attempts, I will be happy to advise.
Can't stand these cold calls, drive me bonkers

WRITE A REVIEWFrequently Asked Questions
Why does the caller from 08 6289 1046 hang up or backtrack when I answer?
08 6289 1046 operates as part of a high-volume robocall system that dials thousands of numbers daily. When you answer with a greeting that suggests you're alert or in an unusual circumstance (like mentioning a care facility), the caller may disconnect rather than waste time on a low-probability sale. This is typical of cold-calling operations that measure success by conversion rate, not call completion.
Is 0862891046 actually calling from Western Australia?
The number 0862891046 is allocated to Netsip Pty Ltd in WA as a local service, but callers can spoof the origin to appear from anywhere in Australia. Multiple contributors report that despite the 08 prefix (Perth), they receive calls purporting to originate from Sydney to Perth numbers. This spoofing allows Netsip to exploit caller ID trust - you're more likely to answer a local-looking number.
If I block 08 6289 1046, will the calls stop?
Blocking this single number provides temporary relief only. Contributors report that Netsip Pty Ltd generates new numbers faster than they can be blocked - one person blocked 30+ numbers and the calls continue from new numbers. Blocking individual numbers is necessary but insufficient against this operation. Focus on reporting to the Do Not Call Register and ACMA rather than reactive blocking.
What personal information does Netsip have about me?
At minimum, Netsip holds your phone number and has likely purchased your name, suburb, and possibly address from data brokers. One contributor suspects Netsip may have access to income level and spending habits given the targeted nature of pitches. If you're unsure whether you opted in, contact Netsip's parent company or the data broker through which they sourced your number, though enforcement of opt-out requests remains inconsistent.
Are calls from 0862891046 illegal?
Yes, if you're listed on the Do Not Call Register. The Australian Consumer Law prohibits telemarketing calls to registered numbers except in specific exemptions (existing customer relationships, charities, political entities). Multiple contributors argue that Netsip Pty Ltd's volume of repeated calls on registered numbers breaches telecommunications regulations. Report to ACMA (acma.gov.au) to add to the enforcement case.
Why haven't authorities shut down 08 6289 1046?
Enforcement is resource-constrained. ACMA can investigate and sanction, but only if they receive sufficient complaints and can prove the breach occurred. The Do Not Call Register itself relies on complaints to identify patterns. Contributors reporting 0862891046 to the Do Not Call Register and ACMA strengthen the case for enforcement action. Netsip's ability to generate new numbers also allows the operation to continue under slightly different guises.
