Claimed to be from Amazon and someone in Mountain View California has hacked my account $1400 phone.
A man called me saying he was from PayPal. He informed me that someone in the US had claimed a withdrawal of $1800 from my account. I suspect this call was a scam.
A caller identified himself as being from Amazon and mentioned a fraudulent transaction of $1,700 that was supposedly made to purchase gift cards. When I responded that I hadn’t made any such purchases, he abruptly hung up the call.
I have been receiving multiple scam calls, including from this number, which further confirms my suspicions.
A caller claimed to be from Commonwealth Bank of Australia, saying there were unauthorized transactions on my debit card and surprisingly knew the card number. I did not share any personal information with them. I later contacted my bank directly, and they issued me a new debit card as a precaution.
