    Pretended to be from Telstra and said the call was regarding the order placed a week ago, which was never done. The scammer was wanted info like date of birth. So hung up on her.

    I booked a connection the day before with Telstra. He said he wanted to check details for the connection. I said I will call Telstra and check - gave no details. I rang Telstra and it is a scam.

    This is not Telstra-they claim they are calling about an order you have with Telstra (I actually had an order with them) but when I called Telstra & gave them the number they told me it was not them.

    This was Telstra for an order I arranged. Call did incorrectly appear as Potential Faud on my Samsung phone. As, I didn't answer in time no Voicemail was left but did receive an SMS message shortly after that they failed to contact me.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
