My personal rule is that if they fail to leave a voicemail with their name and company information, I immediately block the number.

Weird call-guy named Alex called my workplace asking for someone who 1. hasn't worked here for 2 years and 2. Passed away a couple of weeks ago. I first told Alex this person doesn't work here, he then asked where he now works so I explained he'd passed away. Rather than drop the call, Alex then asked when he'd died and if I knew him personally, then asked for my name and whether he can call if he 'requires assistance in the future'. I asked what exactly he needs assistance with and where he's calling from, he refused to tell me saying it's a 'personal business matter'. At this point I advised we can't help him if he refuses to give any information.
So basically this guy called for someone who hasn't worked here in years and is dead, and wants to know if he can call for further assistance with a personal matter he can't tell anyone about??
