    I to have had calls saying they are calling in regard to my car accident. Then tell me to hang up if I never had a car accident. I did have a very minor 1 a few months before. I think they just say they're calling about car accident. I had 2 calls from a 0862053579. Looks like a Perth based landline. No message. Just says the number doesn't exist.

    Keep getting prank calls from this number and then hanging up. I suspect it's from this "aftercare team" relating to a car accident. I kept asking them who they are and what government department they are with and they hung up on me. Now I keep getting prank calls.

    Have had two calls asking about my car accident in September, suspected it was a scam and therefore did not give out any personal information. How do they know I had an accident.? Who are they? They "want to make sure I got everything I am entitled to".

    Multiple calls I called back straight to hold music must be spam.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
