Did not answer phone, blocked and deleted.

A recorded message from a scammer claiming to represent Telstra called me. The message prompted me to press 1 for English and 2 for Chinese. This appears to be a fraudulent attempt to obtain personal information.

K

This is a known scam operation that impersonates major companies such as your bank, Telstra, Microsoft, and Amazon. The silent calls may be an attempt to gather information from your voicemail greeting, or it could be due to their auto-dialer calling too quickly. They frequently use different phone numbers and often call several times in a row from various numbers.

K

I received a recorded message stating that over a thousand dollars had been taken from my Visa or Mastercard. They prompted me to press 1 for assistance, but this clearly sounds like a scam.

I didn't answer this call, but I suspect it was yet another scammer trying to reach me.

TYPICAL AMAZON SCAM.

Recorded American female message advising moneys will be deducted from mastercard today by Amazon unless action is taken by pressing 1. Male in callcentre hung up on me after I replied hi and waited. Number is constantly engaged on callback. Web search results similar to this report.

I believe this is likely a scam call. The number appeared as if it was from Perth, WA, but I don't know anyone in that area. They called multiple times within an hour.

V

I didn't answer this call, and when I tried to call back, the line was constantly busy. Based on similar reports, I suspect this is a scammer, so I have blocked the number.

A voicemail was left claiming that fees would be debited from my account because I made purchases on Amazon, which I did not. This is definitely a scam.

SCAM: I received a call from someone with a strong Chinese accent. I didn't respond at all as this was the fifth scam call I had received within two hours. Interestingly, other calls appeared to be from numbers located in NSW, QLD, and SA.

H

I received a call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft. Although they provided some form of 'authentication', something felt off about the call. When the call was interrupted, they called me back, but this time from a different number. I answered to see if it was the same person and then hung up. They continued to call me multiple times, each time using a different number, which made me suspicious.

R

Yet another dodgy call. Let's be fair and consider it could be a legitimate 'call centre' acting on behalf of legitimate companies however it that is the case they are ignoring the do not call register on which one is listed. So, number reported and blocked. However if not legitimate, number reported and blocked. NEVER answer unrecognized numbers calling.

D
Diana

This number did not leave a voicemail which makes me suspicious. A quick Google search shows no relevant information about this number, suggesting it is likely a scam.

This number claimed to be from NAB Bank, but I don't have an account with them. The connection was poor, leading me to suspect that it might be an overseas call. I genuinely believe this is likely a scam.

Caller pretended to be from Common Wealth Bank saying they had blocked a dodgy looking transaction this morning & could I open Google chrome so they could prove they were from the anti fraud department. Worryingly they knew my name.
