I received a call from an Indian individual using a Perth number, shortly after hanging up from a call from the same person who had contacted me on an NSW number. The caller seemed agitated and questioned why I had hung up on him.
When I answered a call from this number, there was complete silence, and they hung up on me. Later, I received a scam text from a different number pretending to be my family member, saying they dropped their phone and asked me to message them on a friend's number.
The caller demanded that I update the IP address of my mobile phone because they claimed it was showing as located in the US, and that a PayPal transaction for a specific amount was about to be processed. They even had my personal email address! When I didn't respond as quickly as they wanted, they began yelling at me.

However, given that my landline in Sydney hasn't been active for over 10 years, this appears to be a scam script from someone calling from Derby, WA.
They are now attempting to impersonate PayPal again, which is concerning and likely part of a fraudulent scheme.
