    Answered call, they hung up as soon as I said hello... Been getting calls from different numbers each time around the same time most week days. Buggers won't talk to me so I can't waste their time and make them angry when they realise I'm not gullible and haven't fallen for their scam.

    Claimed to be from Optus telling me I had a business service payment to make. Obvious scam, I don't even use Optus! Probably related to the Optus hack of 2023.

    This number appears to be a scam. A recording of a female voice stating a payment of $$$ will be withdrawn from my account. Then gave me options to 'cancel request' or speak to someone.

    I ended call.

    Repeated phone calls - no message left. When I called back - no dial tone and the line dropped out.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
