The caller claimed to be from ANZ Bank, talking about a $1,100 transaction on my debit card, urging me to press 1 if I did not authorize it. When I pressed 1, my call was redirected to a woman with an Indian accent who didn’t identify me. When I questioned her credibility, she stated she was part of a group that assisted all Australian banks with fraud, then hung up. I checked my accounts and found no unauthorized transactions.

I received a call from a person claiming to be from Optus, insisting I had a business service payment to make. This is clearly an obvious scam, as I do not even use Optus services! This might relate to the Optus data breach incident that occurred in 2023.
