Classified as a scam call, it uses sophisticated tactics to lure individuals into revealing sensitive information. Scam Characteristics

Reviews from multiple users indicate that when answered, a computerised voice claims there’s a problem with your Amazon Prime subscription. The message states that if action is not taken, your account will be charged $99.99. This makes it particularly alarming, as it preys on concerns about unexpected charges.

How the Scam Works

  • Once connected, the scammers will request personal information, including your email address, age, and income level.
  • They may attempt to establish remote access to your computer using programs like Team Viewer, which allows them to control your device and potentially steal sensitive data or install harmful software.

Scam caller. Had a fun time messing with them. They ask for your email, age, how much you earn. I work for IT and have a good amount of cyber security knowledge. Do not allow them to mirror your screen, as they can gain access to all your information and do not allow them to ask you to login to your bank account. They use a program called Team Viewer to take control of your computer. If you happen to fall for this, shut down your computer immediately, go see your bank and see a computer specialist so they can remove the programs they install in your computer. Most of the scammers are calling from Kolkata in India and not from Australia.
