    Scam call from "Telstra Technical Department". By the info they were trying to collect and verify, it sounded like they were trying to port the mobile to another carrier.

    The same as above. Claiming to be Telstra. I had spoken to Telstra the day before. They asked my name. Then they asked date of birth and I realised it was scam and told them to #%&@ off. Beware. I got half suckered lol.

    My girlfriend had a call from this number claiming to be Telstra calling to fix a problem with her account. Then asked for her name and date of birth. She gave the caller a male name, explained the female voice as the result of a sex change. Date of birth was given as December 1875. The spammer then got a bit upset:) The call promptly ended.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
