Understanding the Nature of Calls from 07 7520 8285
The phone number 07 7520 8285 / 0775208285 has raised significant concerns among users, with multiple reports categorising it as a scam. According to recent reviews, callers masquerading as representatives from a bank's fraud department are attempting to deceive individuals into revealing sensitive banking information under the pretext of authorising a dubious Bitcoin transaction.
Scam Details
This scam typically involves a faux scenario in which the caller claims that a substantial purchase – in this case, worth $900 – has been attempted on the recipient's Visa Debit card. Users reported the callers were evasive about their institution, using vague references to "your Visa Debit card" without disclosing specific details.
When pressed for further information, such as the name of the banking institution, the response was insufficient and often resulted in hasty hang-ups once the user refused to divulge personal bank details. This is a classic indication of a phishing scam, where fraudulent operators seek to acquire personal financial data.
Identification of the Scam
- Bitcoins and Fraud: The context of Bitcoin is particularly concerning. Scammers often exploit public interest in cryptocurrency to create urgency, manipulating potential victims into hasty decisions.
- Pressure Tactics: Impersonation of bank representatives and fraudulent notices about transactions are aimed at creating panic and confusion, leading individuals to mistakenly provide sensitive information.
- Lack of Legitimate Verification: Genuine banks will not request sensitive information in this manner, nor will they hang up when asked to provide proof of identity or association.

Called and they said they were from the fraud department and asked about a bit coin purchase, for some reason wanted me to tell them about my bank details and couldn’t tell me which bank they were from only that I either used visa or Mastercard. They hung up on me when I didn’t give them my bank details.
Received a call from this number telling me that someone had attempted to purchase $900 worth of Bitcoin from my Visa Debit card and asking if I want to approve the transaction. When I asked which account she would only say my Visa Debit card and couldn't tell me the account due to privacy. So I asked numerous times which banking institution (as I have several Visa Debit cards with different banks) - after the 5th time of asking she finally said ANZ....... Who I don't bank with!
