Crypto Investment Impersonation Reports for 07 7510 9249

Two contributors have reported suspicious activity from 07 7510 9249 (also written as 0775109249), a Queensland local service number. The primary concern involves an impersonation caller falsely claiming to represent Morgan Stanley, alleging the recipient has an unclaimed crypto balance of $260,000 from a historical transaction.

The caller from 0775109249 specifically referenced a $300 platform payment made years earlier, attempting to create false legitimacy by invoking a defunct company that had previously been investigated for stealing funds. This represents a sophisticated social engineering approach combining impersonation with cryptocurrency incentives to manipulate recipients into engaging further.

What Callers from 07 7510 9249 Claim

According to the report, the caller from 07 7510 9249 made a specific claim: Morgan Stanley had discovered an unclaimed crypto balance of $260,000 owed to the recipient. The caller referenced a historical $300 transaction on an unnamed platform to establish false credibility.

This tactic exploits several psychological triggers simultaneously. The mention of a legitimate financial institution (Morgan Stanley) combined with the promise of substantial funds creates urgency and apparent legitimacy. The reference to an old transaction attempts to create the impression that official records support the claim.

Beyond the crypto investment impersonation, another contributor reported receiving a silent call from 0775109249. After initial silence, a female voice spoke briefly before the recipient disconnected. This pattern suggests the number may be used for both targeted investment scams and broader silent call campaigns.

Report Patterns and Timing

The primary report involving 07 7510 9249 occurred on Friday evening, 24 April 2026 around 6:30 pm. The second report of silent call activity was logged in February 2025, indicating the number has been active across an extended period.

The evening timing of the investment impersonation call aligns with common scam patterns targeting individuals during leisure hours when they may be more relaxed and less cautious. The time gap between reports and variation in call tactics (impersonation versus silent) suggests this number may operate as part of a broader scam network using multiple approaches.

What to Do If You Receive a Call from 07 7510 9249

If 07 7510 9249 calls you:

  • Do not: Engage with claims about unclaimed funds or crypto balances, provide personal or banking details, confirm your identity, or agree to any verification process
  • Do: Hang up immediately, block the number, and independently verify any financial claims by contacting the institution directly using official contact details from their website
  • Verify independently: If the caller claims to represent Morgan Stanley or any financial institution, end the call and contact that organisation using a phone number you find yourself on their official website, never using details provided by the caller
  • Remember: Legitimate financial institutions do not contact customers out of the blue about unclaimed balances or require verification of crypto holdings via unsolicited calls
  • For silent calls: Do not speak or provide any response; simply disconnect and block the number if calls repeat

Crypto Scam Red Flags

Calls from 07 7510 9249 claiming unclaimed cryptocurrency exhibit several hallmark scam characteristics. Legitimate institutions do not discover previously unknown unclaimed balances and contact individuals directly through unsolicited calls. Scammers use cryptocurrency specifically because transactions are irreversible and difficult for authorities to trace.

The invocation of a company known to have been closed due to fraud investigation is particularly revealing. This creates false credibility by referencing a real historical event while attempting to convince the recipient that their funds were legitimately held by that entity.

Is Morgan Stanley actually calling about unclaimed crypto from 07 7510 9249?

No. A contributor reported receiving a call from 07 7510 9249 falsely claiming to be Morgan Stanley with news of a $260,000 unclaimed crypto balance. Legitimate financial institutions do not contact people unexpectedly about unclaimed assets, and Morgan Stanley would never discover or manage crypto balances from defunct platforms. This is an impersonation scam.

What happens if I engage with the caller from 0775109249?

The scammer will attempt to collect personal information, banking details, or payment to 'verify' or 'unlock' the supposed unclaimed balance. All money sent goes directly to the scammer. Why did I get a silent call from 07 7510 9249?

One contributor reported a silent call from 07 7510 9249 followed by a female voice. Silent calls from this number may be used to verify active numbers before targeting with the crypto impersonation scam, or as part of broader silent call campaigns. Do not respond to silence or provide information if someone speaks.

Can I trust any information about my transactions from 07 7510 9249?

No. Any claim from 07 7510 9249 should be treated as fraudulent. The caller falsely referenced a historical $300 transaction to create false credibility, but this is a social engineering tactic. Never trust unsolicited claims about your accounts, balances, or transactions regardless of how specific the caller's knowledge appears.

What should I do if 0775109249 calls and I answer?

Hang up immediately without providing any information. Do not confirm your identity, respond to questions, or engage with claims about unclaimed funds. Block 0775109249 if you have the option. If you already provided information, contact your bank and consider reporting to Scamwatch at scamwatch.gov.au.

Who operates the scam from 07 7510 9249?

The number 07 7510 9249 is provisioned to Symbio Networks in Queensland, but this is almost certainly spoofed or compromised. Scammers often use legitimate provider allocations or local numbers to appear credible. The actual operators are investment fraud scammers likely operating outside Australia. Report to ACMA (acma.gov.au) and Scamwatch (scamwatch.gov.au) to assist authorities in tracking the scam network.
