Called my work phone and claimed that an Amazon Prime purchase for the amount of $299 had been charged to an account (which I know doesn't exist as this is a company phone). They ended up hanging up as I kept asking them to give details of my account that was supposed to have been charged... Pretty obvious scam from the get go...
I received a missed call from this number (07 5641 1164) and when I called back they advised that someone had attempted to set up an Amazon Prime account in my name using PayPal as payment. As soon as I mentioned that I would contact PayPal to check the purchase and dispute the transaction, they hung up on me.
I called back multiple times and each time it rang through to a "could not connect your call" automated message.
Amazon Prime, saying $299 has been taken out of my account, and told me to call the number they gave to confirm or talk about the transaction…..
