    This number is a scam. They come under the name of Maria and Peter and someone else will contact via email saying I have just listed this excavator for my friend Maria. Please get in contact with the email he provides to you. This is the reply we got.

    Hi and thanks for the email. I am sorry for the late reply. The excavator is in very good condition, no problems here, can go to work straight away. It has done 2323 hours. Two owners from new, no leaks. I must tell you that it belonged to my father who unfortunately passed away 3 months ago. The price I am looking for is $8.200 (I can also have it delivered for half the fuel money). Please see the attached pictures. Let me know if you are still interested. It's located in Port Douglas, Queensland (my friend who listed it for me forgot to update the location). Where are you located?

    Thank you,

    Maria & Peter.

    Also this one !

    Hi again,

    I can have it delivered for $500 as a neighbour of my late father will do us a favour as he has his own flatbed trailer and goes down to NSW/VIC area quite often. I spoke with him and he can be there on Sunday or Monday. Let me explain how we can do it then. I have to tell you that I'm currently out of town so I will get the neighbour to bring it to you if you decide to buy it but we have to close the deal through eBay which was specially designed for this kind of situations. I have no one home, the neighbour will be traveling from a distance to collect it and meet you so I must be sure and not put him on the road based just on words. If you are not aware of this program you should know that it will allow you to test and inspect it before paying me. You will have a 5-days inspection period to decide whether you want to keep it or not before they release the funds tome. During this time you can run an inspection and take it to a mechanic. I will receive the payment from eBay only if you are satisfied with it. If by any reason (it has any hidden damage or it isn't as I described it) you can refuse the deal. In this case eBay will fully refund you and I will come and collect it on MY cost. I am offering this because I know exactly what I am selling (condition wise etc) and I know that no serious person in their right mind would refuse the excavator once delivered.

    If you want to buy it and want to inspect it for 5 days at your place, please confirm your eBay username, your name and delivery address so I can register the sale and proceed. If you will decide to not go through now then is not a problem I still quite have a few more offers from potential buyers. Hopefully, I made myself understood and we will be closing the deal. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

    Thanks.

    Maria & Peter.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
