Just got a call from this mob during my Lunch break. Was not impressed.
He's name was Tom from some Insurance company that I missed catching the name of.
I played the Telstra Card after he said he was tom and he quickly hung up.
Tom - Hi this is Tom from some Insurance company.
Me - Who is this?
Tom - This is tom from such and such Insurance.
Me - You just called Telstra's complaints department.
Tom - Oh so sorry... BEEP BEEP BEEP and the call hangs up.
I'll start off with saying there was a 1 - 2 second delay and the so called "Tom" had a Indian accent.
I suggest if you guys want to get rid of this mob you need to play the Telstra card. Don't do anything too risky. Just say you are from Telstra's Complaints department and this call is being recorded and monitored for safety purposes. This method should get them hanging up quick smart.
Call was from Australian something or other on behalf of Insurance Line. They called my mobile number. Never had a spam call on mobile before. Told them I wasn't interested and politely ended the call. If they call again I won't be quite so polite.
Got a call from this number, introduced himself as someone calling from Australian Insurance Agency and when I said sorry, from where, he said wrong number and hung-up. Very Strange.

Said Hello this is Ray from the Australian Contact Centre - I said NO THANKS, GOODBYE, as I NEVER give my mobile number to ANYONE and they obviously were just ringing random numbers.
This number just called me and was asking for personal information to join me up for "Life Insurance".
The lady I was speaking to then proceeded to be rude when I told her I wasn't giving her my information because I didn't know anything about her company or why is was so important I have her my details now and not when I got back home. (Not on holidays!!!!).
I think this is a spam and as I don't live in QLD and am staying here on holidays, to answer everyone's questions I believe they may have gotten my number via Location Services on my iPhone 6 as they were turned on.

Im a student and I got called in the middle of a class so I didn't pick up, they left a voice message and it was an aussie guy said he was from some call centre company or something but ive never heard of them and don't know why they would be calling me.
So this number continues to call my household numerous times. The first time they got my partner claiming they were calling to enquire about the home phone and internet connection (which we literally just got connected a few days ago so my partner thought there was a problem), the Indian man on the phone went straight into asking for birth date, address, etc. My partner never gave out details, and just asked what the name of the company was the Indian bloke worked for. The Indian guy said 'Telstra' and my partner told him we didn't have an account with Telstra, the Indian man butted in and said 'yes, but Telstra owns your lines'. So my partner asked to be forwarded onto a manager a requested the Indian mans name and position at Telstra and he hung up pretty quickly.
When I got home they phoned again, being a new phone and only a few relatives have my phone number so I thought I was getting a call from a loved one. Turns out to be some Indian woman claiming that we are eligible for an internet service upgrade, and I quote, "because we have had a Telstra home phone for over 8 years and a 200Gb per month home internet plan." As I mentioned above, this phone was connected just a few days ago, and for the past 2 years and 8 months, we have not had a home phone or home internet, we've relied on our mobile phones for contacting the outside world and browsing the internet. So I told her that, and she said there was a mistake and she knows her information is correct as she can see it on her computer, I told her we were not with Telstra and she says to me 'Telstra owns the lines', and continues to crap on about how our service will be upgraded to unlimited calls bar international and out internet will have unlimited data usage with a top speed of 20Mb/sec. I tell her that I am not interested and that when we deal with our internet company they identify themselves and the company they're from prior to talking to us as she has done, and she hangs up. She also knew our names (sort of), she was calling me Mrs Smith, but that is my partners surname, not mine. We're not married.
I got another call a few minutes later, and all I could hear was someone shouting in Indian and I could not make out what it was, but it was a man and he sounded angry, so I hung up.
