07 5480 1369: Fraudulent Fundraising Calls from Rural Fire Brigade

Called claiming to be from heart research institute, pressuring me about a donation pledge, said raffle was in three days and I had to give details right away

Called saying Rural Fire Brigades Association Queensland, searched it and seems legit but slightly different from Rural Fire Service Queensland

Just silence.

Caller claimed to be Qld fire brigade but I'm in WA. seems fishy, treating as scam

Telemarketer for QLD rural fire department asking for funds

Someone rang at 6:30 pm, not buying it, hardly pick up from unknown numbers that late

Selling raffle tickets. Claim to support Rural Fire Brigades, still a cold call, still annoying. I blocked them.

Calling every day but not ringing my phone only getting notifications that it called, very frustrating

Caller rings but says nothing, hangs up after 30 seconds, happens about once a week, seems to be charity

First call was silent, hour later same number called again, silent for 10 seconds then woman said Royal Fire Brigade Association Queensland

Called without leaving message, second day in a row

0754801369 - called today. Phone said it was a private number from Gympie. The man was very nice and said all the right things, even saying the call could be recorded for training. His accent was Australian and he sounded like the guy who volunteers at the Rural Fire Brigade (or his son's footy team, or the Surf Club). I so wanted to believe him but.... can't take the chance any more, scammers are so tricky. Going to go to their website and donate there.

No message left. Probably scammers. I know no one in Gympie.

This seems to be a number for the rural fire service when you ring it, but if it rings you and you answer it the call is immediately disconnected.

A sure sign that somewhere there's a turd that escaped the flushing process using it for spamming/scamming purposes.

I receive regular phone calls from this number, a land line located in Gympie apparently. I have never answered it and they never leave a message. This has been going on for months and months so I suspect it is a spam caller.

There are plenty of legitimate Government websites & Offices etc to visit, to find out ... (where you can drop off clothes / food / necessities etc) for the devastated people who have just lost everything!
