This number called stating they were from Microsoft in North Sydney. They proceeded to tell us there was a problem with out software and needed us to confirm out computer ID number. She told me my Gmail address which was an actual Gmail address but not one for Microsoft. She then told me a very long number and asked me to check my computer id to see if it matched. She said if it doesn't match then there is no issue and you can hang up. When we questioned her about this she hung up. I have contacted Microsoft who have confirmed it is a scam number and they will never call a customer cold only if you request a callback.
