A refund for excess charges from my phone account, water charges and Electricity and they were calling from the 'Reclaim Dept of Australian Federal Government' in Sydney, they had my address, by this time I was suspicious so when they asked me my DOB I said they should already have that information, I said if you tell me what it is I will confirm whether it is correct or not, they hung up on me.

My home phone rang at 2:20pm today 25 Sept 2015. I was busy so let it go to home messages. Immediately after, my mobile phone rang, displaying this number +7(4581)20-22. I didn't recognize it so didn't answer. I have voice to text messages on my mobile, and it displayed that a message was left that couldn't be converted to text. And my home phone messages had the computer lady voice "Goodbye". I get a lot of calls from India (scammers) on my home phone, but never my my mobile. I hope I don't start getting these calls on my mobile! These scammers are just relentless.
I had the same call.
I just had a call from this number claiming to be from the Aust Fed Gov. That I had been over charged $8.500 in taxed and was due for a rebate. They wanted me to confirm that my address was that I an address I had not lived at for 12 years. I challenged them that if they were from the Gov they would know I lived else where based on my tax returns and drivers license etc. They hung up on me.
Same - got a call with them claiming to be from the Aust Govt and going to give me a rebate of $8000. Surely this can be shut down when it is a landline that is displaying the number???????
Just had them phone my mobile pretending to be from the Australian tax office, you would think that the federal police could track these people down, probably the same call centres Telstra use in India and that's how they get your details!
They ring, you answer, a 10 second pause, then a female robotic voice says: "Goodbye". Dodgy as Hell. Afterwards you get a call from overseas.
