    Same as the above... An Indian lady called "Christine" called about my "Telstra internet connections." I don't have internet with Telstra so that was an easy one to work out as scam XD The caller ID said it was from Cairns.

    SCAMMER! VERY heavy Indian accent. Tried to say they’re from Telstra, I asked what the call is regarding and she said she was calling about my internet connection… I asked her if she’s sure about that to which she said “yes I am ma’am”, I asked if she wants to try that again, she said “sorry ma’am?” And when I asked her who my internet connection is with (spoiler alert, it’s not Telstra) she hung up on me… when I tried to call back the automated message said I’d reached “Diamond Plaza” (who I have missed calls from in the past from different numbers, so they were likely the same scam)

    SCAM SCAM SCAM. Pretending to be from Telstra stating they have noticed my IP address going from private to public. Also claims that Telstra provides all internet services to everyone in Australia. Played the game, said how could Telstra provide all internet services when they are a Tier 2 carrier and that they aren't my internet service provider and that baffled them enough to make them hang up. SCAM SCAM SCAM.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
