Caller asked to confirm my details but wouldn't say why they were calling, I checked with GIO directly and they said they didn't contact me

Caller claimed to be from AAMI, insisted on my personal details before saying anything, didn't give info

Got calls from this number September 28 and again October 8. unsolicited and unwanted

Called today and turned out to be legitimate

If they were legitimate, then why haven't they sent me that letter after the first call? I requested that letter sent to me to my residential address. Still hadn't received it. Stop lying!

I feel relieved to know that so many other people also felt that this number seems like a scam, and that l am not overreacting to block it.

Appears as if this legitimate number is being hijacked by a dodgy “not at fault” recovery agent running an elaborate scam.

We received a call from some pretending to be from a related insurer asking for personal information of one our 'drivers' who was **supposedly** involved in an accident. This call was the 5th attempt to get us to hand over personal information. It appears to be part of a sophisticated scam to make a false claim against our insurance. They seem particularly keen on organising a hire car as a replacement vehicle, which is a well known tactic for 'not at fault' recovery agents whereby they charge insane rates for car hire while the vehicle involved in the accident is repaired.
