Crypto Investment Impersonation Reports for 07 3522 6024

A contributor reported receiving a call from 07 3522 6024 (also written as 0735226024) claiming to be a cryptocurrency recovery specialist. The caller identified himself as "Axel" and stated he was working as a chief investigator for CR Investigation LLC, a purported UK-based private detective firm. This is a known impersonation tactic where scammers misuse the names and reputations of legitimate organisations to gain credibility.

The call to 0735226024 centred on a classic cryptocurrency recovery pitch: the caller claimed he was contacting victims of cryptocurrency fraud specifically to help return their funds. The contributor noted the caller displayed unusual confidence and cocksureness throughout the interaction, even inviting further contact with the statement "you can call me here any time" - a manipulation technique designed to build false trust and encourage the victim to re-engage.

What Callers from 07 3522 6024 Claim

According to the report, the caller from 07 3522 6024 presented himself as a crypto recovery professional working for an established firm. He framed his outreach as a service to victims, suggesting he had information about the recipient's previous cryptocurrency losses. This approach exploits victims' desperation following genuine financial losses by offering false hope of recovery.

The caller's strategy involved establishing false credibility by name-dropping a real organisation (CR Investigation LLC) while introducing himself with a name that differs slightly from verified staff. This hybrid approach is designed to withstand basic verification attempts while still leveraging the firm's legitimate reputation. The contributor found the caller's demeanour notably pushy and overconfident, which is consistent with social engineering techniques that prioritise dominating the conversation.

Report Patterns and Timing

This report was logged in January 2023. The call came through 07 3522 6024, a Queensland-based local service number allocated to Primus Telecommunications. The contributor answered the call, suggesting the scammer had successfully bypassed initial screening or the number appeared sufficiently local to warrant a pickup.

The timing and approach indicate a targeted campaign: the scammer had likely obtained contact information for individuals known to have cryptocurrency holdings or prior involvement in crypto transactions. The personalised nature of the pitch (claiming to know about specific losses) supports this targeting hypothesis.
