I reported this call to Sunshine Coast Council for their awareness. I suspect it may have been a phishing attempt aimed at obtaining personal information.
The caller claimed they were conducting a survey but refused to provide information about where they were calling from, displaying a rude attitude during the conversation.
The caller asked if I was "Mrs. ???" (my partner's last name). When I replied "no," they simply responded with "ok, goodbye" and hung up, which felt suspicious.
Rang claiming to be from a local council (local when I lived there 12 years ago). Didn't get far with the call as it was disconnected- probably as I kro asking who he was and what the council wanted.

Foreign person on phone lots of background noise. Appeared to be a dodgy call, using my wife's maiden name.
I tested the number by calling it back, but it only rang with no response, which leads me to believe this is a scam.
When I answered the call, there was no verbal response from the caller, just laughter on the line, which felt very suspicious.
