    Called and said they were from Telstra. Said there was a problem with my internet and asked my to log into my computer. When I said no and politely said that if there was a legitimate problem please email me to confirm. He then went on to tell me to shut up you Motherf***ing B**ch. I have never had a scammer speak to me like this. A new level of aggression altogether.

    Purported to be from Telstra and asked if there were any flashing lights on my modem. I said there were none and he politely said I could hang-up. Immediately rang back and call could not be connected. Don't waste your time or breath.

    Likely scam, as others have mentioned. No introduction when I answered. After about 5 seconds silence, a voice said "it's expensive," and hung up!

    A woman with an Indian accent said she was calling from Visa and Mastercard about transactions - when I asked her to repeat it several times as her accent was so incredibly difficult to understand, she said "you need to go and learn English so you can understand" then hung up... Hilarious considering English is not her first language and is mine. When I call back it is an engaged signal.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
