Scam, scam, scam....
Asian sounding man rang this afternoon, claiming to be Telstra informing of issue with National Broadband Network. I am not with Telstra National Broadband Network, he hung up after I told him to send me e-mail, so I could check.
I received a call from (07) 3339 5172, and when I returned the call, I was greeted with an automated message stating, “Due to temporary service difficulties, we are unable to connect your call.” It’s important to note that Optus was not experiencing any temporary service difficulties at that time—there had only been a long outage previously. The caller did not leave a voice message, which makes me suspect it might be a scam.
