Woman with English accent claimed to represent some agency who was calling people to see if they were eligible for tax incentives. She asked a couple of household income questions and then I asked her to explain the incentives, which she couldn’t. All she could tell me was the tax incentive they were offering was an incentive not to pay tax. I said I was an accountant and that what she was saying made no sense. She told me that because I was an accountant I should know all about it and hung the phone up. Definitely a scammer. Don’t answer any questions from this caller.
Don't answer it's a scam... If you do answer with hello don't state your name and advise them not the call the number again and remove it from the calling list - legally they must remove your number, but there not playing by the rules to start with so...
Suspected spam/scam number. You cannot return the call, always busy signal no matter what time you call back. I suspect scammers as usual pretending to be ATO.
Claimed to be calling from Australian Institute of Research. I asked who the Australian Institue of Research was, and the caller evaded the question, so I was immediately suspicious. At this stage I was very suspicious and ended the call.
