My mother receives almost daily calls from this number. It seems her personal information was leaked or sold by a website she previously shared it with, leading to these scam calls. I recommend blocking the number and hanging up as soon as they call.
Just had one now - 24/11/16 at 12:30pm. I answered and said 'hang on' as I was juggling holding the phone. Put the phone up to my ear to speak and they'd hung up.
Had a call today. I just commented that I had not had an accident. I do not know why this number, cannot be disconnected as it seems to be a scam. Why hasn't someone got the authority to disconnect known scam telephone numbers?
Received a call from "Karina" at Esure, asking about an accident I had in September. Wanted all my details - she said that I was entitled to a payout between $20.00 - $50.000, and that if I didn't go ahead, the "Insurance Company" would just claim it on my behalf and I wouldn't see any of it. She asked if I had any medical expenses, how much the damage was on my car, if there were any passengers, date, location, etc. She said she would organise for their solicitor to meet with me to sign papers in order for me to collect on this money.
I asked where she got my number from and she said that there is a data base that has the name and number of everyone that has had an accident in the last 12 months. I said that if there is a data base, then they should have that information already.
I said that I didn't need the money, then she tried using a guilt trip on me saying that I was going to miss out on a lot of money. I laughed and said that the information I'd given her was bogus, but she would have known that if she was real. There was a stunned silence, then swearing, before I hung up.
Calling the number back from a private number got me an English accented bot saying that the number was not connected.
Ive had many calls from then on diffrrent numbers. I talked to an irish girl from this si called company. She said they were located in Sydney and the company name was Esure. When I checked this online its an English company run from the U.k. when I told her this was not a Sydney number she seemed quite surprised and said she would confront her boss. I have threatened them several timesbut still they won't leave me alone. Next time they call I woll be trying to also get their office address and abn.
Same as the other commenters. Someone saying I'd been in an accident in the last 12 months and wanting further details from me (which I didn't provide!).
