Once a number/s is clearly established as a scam operation, there should be regulation for the service provider to cancel their lines.

Tired of getting these calls.

Car crash compensation phone scam.

Update January 2017.

Cold calls are being made to members of the Western Australian public by people pretending to be from a crash investigation company acting on behalf of The Insurance Commission of Western Australia (ICWA).

The caller attempts to obtain personal information supposedly for referral to an injury claims or compensation service promising the call recipient financial gain.

ICWA advises the calls are NOT solicited by them and that any claimant’s personal details are provided to ICWA via its Online Crash Reporting Facility and claim documentation NOT via phone through a third party.

Their warning is at [link] ScamNet tips:

Never give personal details to cold-callers.

Take a name and number and do independent checking to verify whether the person who was on the end of the phone is truly who they say they are.

Call WA ScamNet on 1300 30 40 54 if you are still unsure.

29 September 2016.

In the last fortnight there have been 27 reports to WA ScamNet/Consumer Protection about cold-calls from someone claiming to be from ‘Accident Helpline.’.

Accident Helpline has already posted a warning on its website to advise it does not make cold-calls and this is nothing to do with them.

Got a call at 07.45am and was told it was Road Care.

They asked for me by name, which I did not respond and just asked them what it was about! They said "A recent car accident that you were involved in".

I knew then it was a scam of some sort, as I've not been in an accident.

I told the to politely "F#%^k Off" and hung the phone up.

Warning: Never answer "YES" to any of the questions they may ask!

It might be an attempt to get a recording of you saying "YES", which could be used on voice authorisations over the telephone to amend some of your accounts or to set up accounts in your name.

Companies using voice verification are now changing to a "Sentence" rather than answering "YES" to a question because of this problem.

I just got the call a moment ago. They pushed to get data out of me, even after I told them I would do some research on them before telling them anything. I told them to call me back later. Sounds like a scam.

I received a call from this number today. He said his name was Dean from Roadcare. I hung up straightaway and looked up Roadcare which seems to be something to do with Mercedes Benz. Don't know what he was selling but in light of the other comments here probably something to do with car accidents?
