    Received calls from (07) 3153 5679 about 6 times in the last two months, APR-MAY 2023, didn't leave any message, kept calling, I believe it is either telemarketing, scam or as others said prank call. I blocked the number.

    I got two calls from the same scammer in a row. His first number (03 9034 5146) I blocked after calling back once only to be hing up on within seconds. Pretty sure its a scam, the guy left a message that said he looked up my IP and I was using his WiFi, thing is I don’t live in Queensland (where the number ID is coming from).

    Weird voicemail telling me I'm bumming off their WiFi and they looked up my ISP and connected it to my mobile. Total crock of BS. I'm using my own mobile data or my own home WiFi or work WiFi. I'm based in another state to this number so totally impossible. The voicemail recording sounded staged and weird long pauses between sentences. Very broad aussie accent.

    I got a call saying that I keep calling even though I have no idea who it is. They said it was a busy night for them and asked me how much I needed. I hung up.

    Scammers saying that you've reversed into their car and you need to contact your insurance and that you have left your number under their wiperblade, swearing and yelling totally hung up beware.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
