Oi, this bloke rings me up asking to verify my identity, wanting my full name, DOB, address, and even my driver's license! I mean, c'mon mate! You called ME. Who do you think you are? I started sharing but then I thought, hold on a sec, what's with all these details? They were trying to convince me they're legit, but I quickly checked online and told them I'm not comfortable at all. Dodgy as they come!

(07) 3013 4500 - this number, if you actually read the page on qro.qld.gov.au/sper/contact-sper/ QRO stands for Queensland Revenue Office.

It clearly states the following:

Call 1300 365 635 during office hours.

If you are overseas, call us on +61 7 3013 4500.

If you're on about those complaints regarding scams, take a chill pill and just check the QLD Government's SPER page. It clearly has the info you need to call.

Calls me every day, they say they are SPER and collecting for driving fines in Qld. Firstly I've never been to Queensland, neither has any vehicle I've owned, so there is no chance I have any fines. Secondly, they have threatened to cancel my license, which is hilarious, they can't cancel my license because it isn't a Qld license.

A message was left suggesting that my 91-year-old mother should call about a fine and potential license suspension. However, she never had a driver's license and does not drive. It is incredibly frustrating and confusing.

I received a missed call from this number and decided to call back. It turned out to be SPER (State Penalties Enforcement Registry). They informed me that a company in Queensland had used my mobile number related to an unpaid debt. However, I reside in New South Wales and have no connection to any business in Queensland. They did remove my number from their records, but it’s possible your number has also been used by scammers. It's advisable to verify the call directly by dialing the number yourself, rather than redialing from your call list.

After missing a call, I received a text from SPER with a message referencing a 1300 number. This appears to be legitimate communication from SPER.

Received a call from 07 300134500 - didn't answer then I got an SMS stating my license was suspended and that the debt won't go away!! The way the message was written was definitely not something you would expect to receive from a government department. I called SPER and they confirmed it was not sent from them. The mobile number is 0480016540. You can't call this number and if you reply you get a sms saying its not monitored and call SPER on 1300185619 That is also not SPER's number the whole this is a SCAM!!

This number is associated with a scam. They have a penalty ID number that makes their claim seem more credible. They will text you with a different 1300 number, pretending to be a legitimate authority different from SPER's actual contact number.

I received a call from SPER representing the Queensland Government, but I live in Victoria and have no connections to Queensland. I believe this to be a scam.

I got a spam call featuring a pre-recorded message directed to someone named Joshua Michaels. The message instructed him to call a number for the Queensland Government's State Penalties Enforcement Registry at 1/3 hundred 185619. It seemed suspicious and untrustworthy.

I received a call from SPER regarding an additional payment I made yesterday. To my surprise, they provided helpful assistance, and I found out that I can pay what I owe, or if I am experiencing difficulties, they are willing to set up a payment plan.

Yes it's completely unethical highly doubt a government agency would act like this looks like a scam.

Its from someone claiming to be from SPER threatening to cancel my licence if I don't pay the fine for not voting. Given I haven't lived in Qld for ten years If you get anything in the mail or from this number take to a magistrates court, complain and contest.

I didn't answer the call and I got a text saying my license has been suspended. Hilarious, since I've never had a license. Better luck next time, scammers.

I also received a phone call from this number that I didn't answer. Almost immediately I received an SMS from SPER telling me to call 1300185619 to get my licensce back. BUT I don't have a licence either and haven't had one for years.
