Understanding the Number 07 2809 3442
Receiving calls from unfamiliar numbers can be unsettling, and 07 2809 3442 / 0728093442 is no exception. Reported by users, this number is associated with a purported charity called ALLKND, which focuses on mental health support. However, alarmingly, many reports suggest that this number may not be a legitimate representative of the charity it claims to embody.
Scam or Charity? What Users Are Saying
A common theme arises from user reviews regarding this number. While some believe that 07 2809 3442 / 0728093442 connects to a real charity campaign by ALLKND, an alarming number of reports indicate that it may actually be a scam operation posing as the charity to extract donations. According to feedback, a caller named "Lucy Edwards" often interacts with potential donors, raising red flags about the authenticity of her claims. Intriguingly, inconsistencies in her responses hint that she might be a chatbot, particularly when callers request to be removed from their outreach list.
Why It Matters: The Risks of Charity Scams
Donor scams pose a significant risk to unsuspecting Australians. Scammers often take advantage of people’s goodwill during calls by impersonating legitimate organisations. In this case, users noted that communication led to a transfer to a supervisor with an accent that indicated they might not have been local—which is yet another alarm bell about the validity of their approach.
Additionally, while some legitimate charities do use consultancy services to manage donation drives, this is often where confusion arises. Unscrupulous firms may be subcontracted for cold calling, which can tarnish the reputation of genuine initiatives like ALLKND. For those who find themselves uncertain about whether a call from this number is genuine, below are helpful tips:
How to Handle Calls from 07 2809 3442
- Verify the Caller: If you receive a call from this number, verify its legitimacy before engaging further. Look for direct contact information on the charity's official website.
- Don't Give Personal Information: Never provide personal details or payment information unless you are absolutely sure about the legitimacy of the call.
- Report the Number: If you suspect that this number is involved in scams, report it using resources such as Reverse Phone Lookup Australia to warn others.
- Use the Do Not Call Register: While donation requests may be exempt, registering your number can help reduce unwanted calls.
- Direct Contact for Opt-outs: If you wish to be removed from their calling list, consider contacting the charity directly rather than waiting for the caller to process your request.
In summary, 07 2809 3442 / 0728093442 has the potential to be unclear territory; while it connects to a charity, the scepticism raises enough concern for individuals to remain cautious. It is always better to be safe than sorry. For the protection of your hard-earned money and personal information, a healthy amount of scrutiny is warranted.

What Our Users Reviewed
Voicemail stated the caller was "Lucy Edwards" supposedly from a call centre for ALLKND (as noted below). Sounded like a chatbot.
"Lucy Edwards" supposedly from a call centre for ALLKND, a legitimate mental health charity/foundation. Other call sites have claimed that she's a chatbot, and from the responses she was giving me when I requested to be taken off the calls list, it makes complete sense. Someone even went as far as to give her a fake pledge amount, following which they were transferred to a supervisor with an Indian accent. Not sus AT ALL.
Basically, a legitimate small charity, ALLKND, which I believe does not outsource their calls to consultancy firms, are having scammers pose as them for your hard earned cash.
Additionally, for those not in the know, donations calls do not apply to the Do Not Call Register and using a consultancy firm to make calls on behalf of a charity or foundation is incredibly common, simply because it's far cheaper than hiring hundreds of staff to make calls to hundreds of thousands of calls to potential donors. More often than not, they're also the reason why charities and foundations have such shocking reviews on Google and elsewhere. I find calling the charity/foundation directly to get your number removed, while simultaneously complaining about their hired consultancy firm, tends to work if the firm doesn't do it the first time around.
