Reports and Analysis
In a notable report dated 18 July 2024, a user described being met with silence for an extended period upon answering the call, which is a common tactic employed by scammers. This is followed by the caller’s claim of being from Telstra, attempting to verify account details under the pretence of customer service. Two main reflective points arise from user interactions:

- Calls from a legitimate company such as Telstra typically come from registered numbers, differing from this suspicious one.
Another user reported on 30 July 2024 that the caller inquired about internet usage and service satisfaction. While the accent may have sounded Australian, the nature of such queries directed at a person who has not engaged in any prior communication with the caller is concerning.

What Our Users Reviewed
Caught a call from someone claiming to be from Telstra asking about my home internet. I told them I don’t have any internet and they cut the line faster than a butcher at closing time. Weird, right?
The caller asked me about my phone service and how I use the internet at home, attempting to gather personal information. I did not reveal my identity and felt very cautious during the conversation, as I suspected the caller could be a scammer. They sounded like they might be Australian.
07 2141 8134 rang me and as I said hello there was no one there for 27 seconds so I hang up and then I rang back and it answers and puts me on hold for 55 seconds.
Then a man answers who says he is from Telstra and wants to review my accounts. I asked why he rang me and did not speak to me. (very Suspicious) and he said it was because he is ringing from a computer and it takes a while to connect. I that is a big red flag and he should fix that up or ring me from a registered Telstra number.
I also did the search on the number and I believe if it was a Telstra the number would come up as a Telstra number.
I suggest to show lots of caution.
