What Our Users Reviewed
Scammers, do not provide any information they ask you!
They called me twice on separate days pretending to be eBay.
One called for a "suspicious" $500 eBay purchase and other for a $499.99 purchase, both from Mountain View, California. I appreciate the caller who rounded to $500, they probably got fed up saying "four-nine-nine and ninety-nine cents".
Can hear the other scammers in the background immediately.
Line or shocking to begin with.
Conversation went like this:
“Hello…. Hello ma’am this is (name) from eBay”
“Hello? What does eBay want with me?”
“There has been an order processed and needing your delivery address. You need to give it to me.”
“I don’t have an eBay account, where did you get this number?”
*hung up*
I just had exactly the same thing!
Reported to eBay.
The caller said they were eBay customer service and that a $500 purchase had been made for gift cards on my account. They wanted to verify the order details.
I don't have an eBay account so I asked if they could advise what email address the eBay account was linked to. They said they could get that information for me and then simply hung up. An attempt to call back returned that the number was inactive.
Definitely a scam.
Answered as I was expecting call, spoke another language and then hung up. Scam.
