SCAM! Elaborate scam tactic - they had already hacked my Amazon account and then called claiming they were Amazon support contacting me regarding an unknown login. Had my name (available through Amazon) and seemed somewhat legit, until they asked me to download an app to help figure out how I was hacked. Trying to steal bank/card details I think.
This caller claimed to be from Mastercard and mentioned my name and email address. I immediately hung up and contacted Mastercard directly, who confirmed that this call was a scam.
A caller with a foreign accent claimed to be from eBay customer service support. When I immediately asked if he was a scammer, he denied it. I informed him that I don’t use eBay and planned to report him. In response, he insulted me, calling me a derogatory name, before hanging up. This is not acceptable customer service!
A person called from what claimed to be Telstra, saying my internet was running on a public server rather than a private one. I informed them that I am not a Telstra customer, and they hung up immediately. This is clearly another scam call.
I've received three calls from this number regarding NBN services. Each time they used a different number from various states. After I asked them to stop calling, the person on the other end simply hung up.
This is a SCAM CALL pretending to be from Mastercard's Fraud Investigation department, claiming there were two unauthorized transactions totaling $800 taken from my account. They didn't know my name, the bank's name, or my account number, which raised my suspicions.
The caller claimed to be from Telstra. When I told him I believed he was a scammer, he threatened to turn off my internet service in 15 minutes.
