This appears to be a scam call. It seemed to be driven by AI because a female voice, claiming to be "Lucy Edwards," asked me to repeat everything due to a supposed bad line. My advice is not to give them any money or engage with them further.
The caller didn’t leave a message, but I noticed that their number follows a similar pattern to others that I have recorded. The number starts with 07211272++ so I choose not to answer it.
I received a call from someone named Lucy who claimed to be with a fundraising center. She started the conversation with the usual pleasantries, "Hope you're well." When I asked her if she was a robot, she seemed confused and didn't give a clear answer. As a result, I decided to hang up on her. It's disappointing to see how scammers exploit the names of legitimate charities for their dishonest schemes.
This number calls several times a week at different times each day, at least once on the same day. All our calls are taken by the answering machine, providing an opportunity for genuine callers to leave a message.
