Fake Doctor Impersonation Reports for 07 2000 4361

Five contributors have flagged 07 2000 4361 (also written as 0720004361) for suspicious activity. The most concerning pattern involves callers impersonating medical professionals from 'the leaf doctor', claiming to discuss prescriptions and appointments with people they have no legitimate relationship with. Two separate reports describe callers with Asian accents who spoke rapidly and became evasive when questioned about the supposed orders or appointments.

What makes these calls particularly suspicious is the interstate targeting. Contributors from Victoria and Western Australia received calls from this Queensland-registered number, claiming to have existing orders or medical appointments in a state they've never visited. When challenged, callers insisted on being the one to initiate contact and refused to accept callback requests, a major red flag for scam activity.

What Callers from 07 2000 4361 Claim

The caller posed as someone from 'the leaf doctor' and claimed to be calling about the recipient's existing orders. When asked what orders they were referring to, the caller began speaking very quickly and became difficult to understand. The caller also mentioned prescriptions and appointments without providing any context about how this person supposedly became a patient.

Contributors who received calls from 0720004361 reported that callers insisted they had existing medical records or orders on file, despite the recipient having no prior contact with any medical service. One contributor noted the caller refused to allow a callback to verify legitimacy, stating 'she would have to be the one to make the calls' - a classic scam avoidance tactic.

Call Patterns and Timing

The reports for 07 2000 4361 span from July to November 2025, with impersonation-focused calls concentrated in August. Three of the five reports describe the number as annoying and persistent, with one contributor reporting the number called twice and hung up without speaking. Another noted it 'kept pestering with junk'. This mix of tactics - impersonation calls interspersed with silent hang-ups - suggests the number may be using multiple scam strategies or running through a contact list testing different approaches.

What to Do If You Receive a Call from 07 2000 4361

If 07 2000 4361 calls you:

  • Do not: Confirm any personal details, discuss medical history, or agree to callback requests from the caller

  • Do: Verify any medical appointment claims by calling your actual doctor's office using their official number (look it up yourself, don't use a number provided by the caller)

A Chinese lady saying she is from the leaf doctor and wanted to know if I needed a prescription. QLD number. I’m from Victoria so was a bit puzzled.

I asked her if maybe she had the wrong number, but claimed she called to speak to me about my “orders”.

I asked “what orders are you talking about?” She then started to talk really quickly and I really struggled to understand her.

To check the legitimacy of the call, I told her it seemed to be a bad connection and asked if I could call her back. She said that she would have to be the one to make the calls.

Seems to me this has to be a scam of some sort.

An Asian lady called me and I struggled to understand what she was saying. I managed to work out the words: Doctor, prescription and appointment.

I think this was either a scam or something as I live in Western Australia, and this number is a Queensland one. As if I would see a doctor in QLD ??‍♀️ never been there in my life.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does 'the leaf doctor' refer to in calls from 07 2000 4361?

Contributors who received calls from 07 2000 4361 (0720004361) reported the caller claimed to represent 'the leaf doctor'. This appears to be a fictitious medical service used to gain credibility. No legitimate medical provider should call you claiming you have existing orders or appointments you don't recall, especially across state lines. Always verify medical calls by contacting your actual healthcare provider directly.

Why did the caller from 0720004361 refuse to let me call back?

When a contributor asked if they could call back 07 2000 4361 to verify the call, the caller refused and insisted on being the one to make future contact. This is a classic scam tactic because it prevents you from independently verifying the caller's identity or legitimacy. Legitimate organisations always allow you to verify their identity by calling them back on an official number you find yourself.

I'm in Victoria/WA - why would a Queensland number call about medical appointments there?

Multiple contributors noted receiving calls from 07 2000 4361 (0720004361) despite living in different states and never visiting Queensland. Scammers don't care about geographic logic - they're simply calling through lists of numbers. Legitimate medical practices won't call you about appointments in states you've never visited. This geographic mismatch is a strong indicator the call isn't genuine.

Should I be concerned if 07 2000 4361 mentioned specific prescriptions or medical information?

Yes. If the caller from 07 2000 4361 mentioned specific medication names or medical details, they may have obtained your information from a data breach. Do not confirm, deny, or discuss any medical information. Hang up immediately and contact your GP directly using a number you find yourself. If concerned about data compromise, monitor your healthcare accounts and consider checking if your information appears in breach databases via cyber.gov.au.

Is 07 2000 4361 definitely a scam or could it be a genuine telemarketer?

The behaviour reported for 0720004361 goes beyond typical telemarketing. Two separate reports describe impersonation of medical professionals, refusal of callback verification, and attempts to extract personal information based on fake existing orders or appointments. The interstate targeting (Queensland number calling people in Victoria and WA about local medical appointments) and the evasive responses when questioned are strong scam indicators. Even if not outright theft, this is deceptive marketing at minimum.

What should I do if I already provided information to the caller from 07 2000 4361?

If you've shared personal details with someone claiming to be from 07 2000 4361 (0720004361), monitor your financial and healthcare accounts closely for unusual activity. Change passwords on sensitive accounts. Report the incident to Scamwatch at scamwatch.gov.au and consider reporting to ReportCyber at cyber.gov.au. Contact your bank if any financial information was shared. If medical information was disclosed, notify your GP and check if your health records show unauthorised access.
