Scam Characteristics

  • Tech Support Scam: One individual reported receiving a call from someone claiming to represent Microsoft. The caller alleged the monitoring of the victim's email account for suspicious activity, encouraging them to provide sensitive information. • Utilise Resources: Consider using services like Reverseau to perform a reverse phone lookup in Australia to identify the caller and gather more context.

A gentlemen sounds Indian called me and said he's from Commonwealth bank. He said that He saw a new transaction $800 to a company in America and He told me to write down a complaint number about that transaction. And he will show me how to get it back... Seems like scam because he didn't confirm my personal details. Be careful everyone.

The caller claimed to be from Microsoft and stated they had been monitoring my email account for suspicious activity. I told them, "Thank you, but I will reach out to Microsoft directly to address any concerns."
