    Yes this is a robo calling strategy to see if you will call back and record your details. If you do they will call back thinking you’re a potential customer.

    Received call from this number. Didn't answer as ive experienced numerous sales calls from 02 and 03 numbers. No message left. I called back - apparently they're experiencing a large amount of inbound calls and ask to leave your name and number. Just BLOCK their number - has sales written all over it.

    I live in Queensland and have had a large number of hang up calls from Melbourne numbers. I did not answer this one and they did not leave a message. I called back and got a message stating that they are having a large number of calls and to call back later. Just another time wasting call.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
