Who calls on Melbourne Cup Day? Fed up with these numbers calling all the time and never leaving a message etc. Again, why doesn't the useless Government do something about these scammers?
Called me on my mobile and hung up when I answered. I seem to be getting more of these calls on mobile and land-line since signing up both on the "Do Not Call" register... Go figure.
Getting sometimes 2 calls per day asking if I have had an energy monitoring device attached to my meter yet. I have lodged a complaint to the do not call register and on the most recent call I asked to speak with their supervisor. They said no and quickly hung up.
Another day, another scammer. Anyone else notice more cold calling since we were required to check in with QR codes? Any truth to the rumor that the data has been given to these companies by the government for cash...?
I said hello, there was a pause, a click and a heavy Indian type accent responded with my name. They were about to launch into some kind of spiel but I simply hung up.
Called me on my mobile number asking for another family member. Supposedly free electricity monitoring device by Vic Govt??? Thick Indian accent trying to fake a western accent with a western name. I hung up after calling them out as scammers.
Didn’t leave a message. Probably a scam. If I hear an Indian accent I wouldn’t give your details people. If Australian businesses are using overseas call centres then bad luck to them because I won’t be doing business with them.
Usual (03) 99xx xxxx eastern states number so I know it's a scam. Picked up and they just said umm and other 'noises'. I said hello scammer come on, try to scam me. They didn't hang up immediately LOL then after some more seconds they hung up.
Indian accent - Knew my name. Wanted to know if I knew about the solar panel rebate, said I already have them, they asked if I wanted more to which I replied I only got them two weeks ago (not true) - they promptly hung up on me.
Scammer. Indian accent. Asked for my name and if I had solar panels. When asked what company they called from they said "Procare" but could not spell it when I asked them to. After I asked if they had a website they hung up.
He said he was Sam and he knew my name, someone else was with me and I couldn’t hear him. He tried calling again but it showed a missed call and missed call message. I tried calling back and a message said the number was disconnected. A similar number has called on other occasions as well. LEAVE A BLOODY MESSAGE!!!!

Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.
Call or message may be a scam if:
You're asked for personal information or money;
Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
The caller wants to access and control your computer.
To protect yourself:
Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
Do not send any money.
Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
