Caller asked for me by name but did not introduce himself. Proceeded to advise he was calling on behalf of the Victorian Energy Upgrades for Hot Water to energy efficient electric. When asked who he was calling from (company) he repeated he was calling on behalf of the Victorian Energy Upgrades for Hot Water. I asked again what company and he advised Victorian Hot Water Services and then launched straight back into his "I need to check if you are eligible for an upgrade" spiel. I advised I am not interested. He politely thanked me and the call ended. Post call, I am unable to locate any website / business with the specific name Victorian Hot Water Services. Although this is likely to be a genuine company doing hot water upgrades under the VEU program, they should not be advising they are calling on behalf of the Vic government. They should also be introducing themselves and providing the name of the business they are representing. Until they do this and I am able to Google the name to identify them as legitimate, I will continue to treat all of these calls as SPAM / Scammers.
