    Claimed to survey on behave of my local city council (so obviuosly they know where I live), and asked a few random questions about how I rate the council's performance. In the end asked my name. And I just realized it might be a scam after I told my name.

    I have blocked this number and numerous others almost the same- surveys who I did not agree to accepting calls from. I am on the do not call list and I get calls like this every single day from at least one caller if not more. Omg how annoying to have no control at all over the phone number that costs me a fortune to only ever receive scam, survey and sales calls.

    We, the public, who pay taxes, go to work and live a respectful life, get this type of scam phone call every single day because we are in the hands of a government who could not care less, does not pay taxes and does not do its job in a respectful manner. Every single day many phone calls from scammers and we live in a first world country. Goes to tell!!!

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
