    Cold call that went to voicemail but then they didn't say anything. I received a prank call from a blocked number last week and I answered with my name, and my name is in my voicemail greeting too. Having read your comments below I'm blocking them!

    Yarra Consulting. They keep calling, and I've said I'm not in a situation to talk. But they persist. Kind of annoying.

    I got a call from this service, actually very happy to see that they were in Melbourne. I was provided with some good information on tax benefits and financial planning. Normally I wouldn't answer but this was good. Currently getting more info from them.

    Yep, I got a call from Charles from Yarra Consulting from this number. Told me I could receive a tax rebate which would go into my mortgage. When I told him that I would pass this number on to my husband and he would call back he was very cagey and then hung up. Assuming it is a scam.

    Tried to sell me cheap telephone calls. They knew my name. Smelled a rat, so told them I wasn't interested. Sounded like an Indian voice.

    I got a call from this number. The guy wanted promised to save us some tax, through a tax incentive scheme that I cannot find any trusted information on. He says he was from "Yarra Consulting". I think it is a scam.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
