What Our Users Reviewed
They called claiming to be 'The National Broadband Network', and said they'd detected multiple people using the internet connection without consent. Claimed we had a security breach and wanted me to run some specific app on the laptop. This seemed very suspicious to me, so I told the caller they seemed to be a scam. They seemed dismayed, and I hung up. I presume they would have tried to run some sort of remote scanning or access program via my IP address and then ransomed my hard drive.
