    Don't answer it. They have called my number sometimes three and 4 times a day. Once b4 I had answered and they were supposedly flogging cheap telephony. Told them I didn't use phones. Dead silence as I hung up. No counter for that answer.

    Keeps calling. Leaves no message. Was Wondering if call was possibly work related, and have dialled number which goes to a recorded message - never answers. Suspect this is a Sales mob and may be a 'cover' number to appear as an Australian (Melbourne) number, to create confidence in answering.

    Called six times in a row. Demanded to speak to business owner stated we don't take sales and marketing calls and to take us of their list. Became aggressive. Said goodbye and hung up. He called six times in a row after that. Told him that I have his number and will report him to the department of fair trading for harassment. He hung up. Very unprofessional.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
