A woman speaking in Mandarin called me, and I suspect this might be a scam based on the conversation and the way she communicated.
I received a message from a caller who said, "Press 1 for English and 2 for Chinese LOL," followed by a long segment in Chinese. I've been getting these calls regularly for the past 18 months and believe they are a scam. The only effective way I have found to reduce these calls is to block specific number prefixes, such as 0394954*, until they switch to a different prefix.
The phone rang briefly, and no message was left after I missed the call. I suspect this is a scam attempt.

I received a call on my mobile at 7:30 PM. The caller ID showed a number from Melbourne, but the person speaking sounded either Chinese or Japanese. I couldn't understand what was being said, and I suspect it may have been a recorded message.
I received a recorded message stating that my credit card had been charged $14.99 for an Amazon payment and approximately $800 for a Western Union transaction. The message prompted me to press 1 or 2 for different options. I chose to hang up instead of responding.
Same. Hung up as soon as I picked.
As soon as I answered, it hung up.
